Sitting meditation

A reminder that our practice group meets at 5pm at Yoga Within. Our bell masters lead a guided sit with time for dharma discussion as well as walking meditation or deep rest. New people are always welcome, our way of practicing is gentle and friendly.

People of Colour Retreat
March 3rd 10am – 5pm, The Shambala Centre, Edmonton.
Hosted by The Shambala Centre
The retreat is led by Dr. Shante Smalls, a senior teacher from New York, who  focuses on the issue of diversity (including race and gender) in Buddhist practice and communities. The retreat is open to all levels of meditation, religious affiliations and sanghas, and backgrounds. Cost is $20-$50 on a sliding scale. The Four Brahma Viharas: Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Appreciative Joy, and Equanimity
May 3rd-5th, St. Stephens College, Edmonton.
Co-hosted by Jill Koziey Counselling

The retreat will focus on the relationship between the four Brahma Viharas and how they support and balance one other. Professional development opportunities that integrate mindfulness in practice is a field that has gained significant momentum over the past several years.  The Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto is one of Canada’s leading providers of professional development in mindfulness interventions.  They do also provide learning opportunities in western Canada.
