The retreat will focus on the relationship between the four Brahma Viharas and how they support and balance one other. March 3rd 10am – 5pm, The Shambala Centre, Edmonton.
Hosted by The Shambala Centre
The retreat is led by Dr. Shante Smalls, a senior teacher from New York, who  focuses on the issue of diversity (including race and gender) in Buddhist practice and communities. The retreat is open to all levels of meditation, religious affiliations and sanghas, and backgrounds. Cost is $20-$50 on a sliding scale. Professional development opportunities that integrate mindfulness in practice is a field that has gained significant momentum over the past several years.  The Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto is one of Canada’s leading providers of professional development in mindfulness interventions.  They do also provide learning opportunities in western Canada.

Upcoming Retreat and Dharma Evening Opportunity Hosted by Happy Hearts

The weekend retreat has sold out, but we are also welcoming all to join us solely for Friday evening’s Dharma talk and guided sit from 7pm to 9pm.  This will be as drop-in and by donation.  Please email us if you have any further questions.

Living in Joy – An Inner Wellspring with Jeanne Corrigal, November 2nd-4th, 2018  – Crestwood Community League, Edmonton, AB

This silent retreat will explore these mutually supportive states, and the importance of joy on the path of liberation.  Dharma talks, small group practise talks, instruction in sitting and walking, and gentle reflection practices will be offered.
